Jellystone Policies

    • Jellystone only allow permanent member’s of staff to open the main door. No unauthorised person is allowed enter our nursery. Jellystone operate a strict secure door policy at all times.
    • It is our policy in accordance with the fire safety Act 1981, that adequate measures are put in place to ensure that all children, staff and all other person are safe in the event of a fire. Fire drills are held monthly.
    • Our nursery has an open door policy; parents are welcome to visit at any time.
    • It is our policy that only the manger or deputy manager can administer medicines.
    • Please inform senior staff if child has to be administered Anti Biotic. All parents/management must sign a medical consent form. Management will always call parent before administering calpol, etc…
    • Our nursery is attended for healthy children. It is important that sick children stay at home to help prevent the spread of infection. If a child has a temperature over 37.5oc a parent will be contacted and calpol administered with parent’s consent. If child’s temperature has not gone down or goes above 38.0oc within 1 hour of receiving calpol, the parent will be called again and asked to take their child home within an hour. Children may attend nursery after 24 hrs on anti-biotic only if well enough to do so.
    • If a child has a temperature above 38.0 parents will be contacted for consent to administer calpol, and will be asked to take their child home.
    • If a child has a suspected infectious condition e.g conjunctivitis or impetigo, parents will be called to collect their child immediately.
    • If nursery has an outbreak of a childhood illness, parents and health authority will be notified immediately.
    • All complaints will be recorded and acted upon within two weeks of receipt of complaint.
    • Our nursery aims to provide a well –balanced and nutritious diet, no added salt or sugar is given. In line with our healthy eating policy no fizzy drinks or sweets are given. (Only at parties will treats be given but no fizzy drinks).
    • In relation to our discipline policy all children are treated the same and no naughty chair/time out corners are used as a form of discipline. All staff use positive steps such as distracting, calming, respecting others, explaining and listening.
    • All parents must notify management if someone different will be collecting their child. We need a full description of person /car and must person must be over 18 years of age. Only authorised people are allowed to pick up children from Nursery.
    • All employees and children are entitled to be in an environment free from bullying. Everyone at Jellystone has a responsibility to prevent bulling and must report any instances that they see or hear. In relation to bullying an investigation procedure will take place. Written reports are drawn up and recorded. And Jellystone will pursue the issue until a solution is achieved.
    • Jellystone code of ethics is that everyone is treated with the same respect and acknowledges that everyone is an individual.
    • Jellystone park policy on accident & incident is as follows; each unit has an acc/inc record book. Every incident is recorded and signed by staff member who witnessed the event and management.
    • Has your child got any allergies or is he/ she on long term medication? Does your child have any medical or developmental conditions? Please inform us.
    • Soothers are only used at naptime. Please ensure your child does not arrive to nursery with soother. Bottles are only allowed in our baby unit.
    • Please ensure your child does not arrive to nursery with toys/books sweets or drinks or any object from home as this may cause conflict among other children.
